In this article you'll learn how to lose belly fat for men without useless situps or crunches. You'll learn exercise and nutrition secrets to develop a lean muscular body and how to develop 6 pack abs. I'll show you how to avoid all the gimmicks and scams out there, and end your confusion about all the misleading information that's leading you astray and wasting your time and money.

I'm not going to pull any punches or hold back anything. I'm going to tell you the TRUTH about how to lose weight, burn fat and get those six pack abs. So let's get right to it.

It's really not that complicated. The things you need to do to get the body you want are actually pretty simple. But, in order to get a low enough body fat percentage so you can actually SEE your ripped abs, takes quite a bit of discipline with your diet, and a lot of commitment to an exercise program that is quite a bit more intense than most people are accustomed to. The good news is the types of foods you'll be eating are delicious and nutritious. And you'll feel a lot more energetic because you'll be eating natural, unprocessed foods.

The first thing we need to do is clear up a couple of myths about burning fat and getting ripped abs. The first myth is that in order to get six pack abs you need to do a lot of crunches and situps... Absolutely not!

I'm not saying you shouldn't do any ab specific exercises. Just that situps and crunches are not the most effective ab exercises, and people spend way too much time doing them. Instead, you should be spending most of your time doing full body - strength and resistance exercises that create a much more intensive fat burning and muscle building environment. They burn more calories and increase your metabolism to a much higher rate, which stimulates a much higher level of fat burning. In addition, most of these exercise indirectly work your abdominal muscles as well.

Excessive time spent on crunches and situps is really a waste of time because you're working a relatively small group of muscles. Your time is much better spent doing full body exercises such as upper body presses and pulls, lunges, squats, dead lifts, clean and presses, etc. This will give you way better results in terms of losing weight, burning fat and developing lean muscle mass.

Again, you can spend some time doing specific ab exercises, but there are better ones than situps or crunches. These are fairly low resistance exercises and you're better off doing higher resistance exercises such as hanging leg raises, bicycles, ab pikes and hip thrusts. You should incorporate ab exercises into your workout twice a week and only about 5-10 minutes should be devoted to them. Remember that your are working your abs indirectly by doing the full body exercises so you don't need to focus too much time directly on the abs.

The second myth is that cardio is the best exercise to burn fat. Again the answer is no.

Traditional cardio, which consists of long duration, steady pace exercises such as the treadmill, stair stepper, elliptical machine, etc. are ineffective and a waste of time in my opinion. Your time is MUCH better spent on interval training sprints or hill climbs and high intensity strength or resistance training.

In a typical cardio workout,, you're going at a steady pace for say 45 minutes. During this time you're keeping your heart rate in one range, typically about 125 beats per minute. So you're training your heart in a very limited range.

On the contrary, with high intensity interval training, say hill climbs or wind sprints, you'll bring your heart rate to a much higher level. Probably up to 150 to 160 beats per minute. This means you're training your heart in a much higher range and making it much stronger. In addition, you're working your muscles with much more resistance, which will stimulate higher metabolism, which again burns fat at a much higher rate.

The same thing applies to strength or resistance training. You're bringing your heart rate to a much higher level because you're doing full body exercises that get you huffing and puffing. You're also building lean muscle mass. These muscles turn into a fat burning machine when you work them out and they continue to burn fat after your workout is complete.

Ok, let's turn our attention to nutrition. What you eat is just as important if not more important than exercise when it comes to developing a lean, muscular body. Have you seen those guys that work out like a maniac but they're still fat? Guess why? They have horrible eating habits. Whatever they do in the gym is negated when they go home and stuff themselves with fattening, un-nutritious foods.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to dis spell a few myths when it comes to diet as well. Everyone seems to think they have to follow a “low fat” diet, or a “low carb” diet in order to lose weight. They're also confused about what foods are healthy and what foods are unhealthy. One problem is the mega billion dollar food industry with their multi million dollar marketing budgets have decided to tell us what's healthy and what's not.

Eating a healthy diet that promotes weight loss and fat burning doesn't have to be complicated. Look at it this way. To eat a healthy diet you should eat foods in their most natural state as possible. That would be grass fed beef and other meats, free range poultry, fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy fats from nuts, seeds, nut butters, organic free-range whole eggs, wild fish and/or fish oil, virgin coconut oil and olive oils, avocados, etc.

Avoid highly processed and refined foods like fast food, soda, and deep fried foods. Pretty much anything you buy in the store that's pre made should be avoided. It should go without saying that foods that contain sugar are off limits. I also recommend avoiding wheat and soy based products. We have the food industry to thank for convincing us that wheat and soy are “healthy”.

You'll be amazed at how different you feel if you follow my recommendations. You will no longer crave sweets or junk food because your body is completely satisfied with the healthy nutritious foods you're feeding it. You will end up eating a lot less calories without trying because your appetite will go way down and you'll eat less. Your energy level will be higher and remain consistent throughout the day. And you will start to see the fat melting away from your body.

I'll sum it all up with the Top 3 Tips to get 6 pack abs:

1) 90% of your workouts should be focused on high intensity full body resistance/strength training exercises such as pushups, pullups, bench press, dips, overhead presses, squats, lunges, clean and press, dead lifts, etc. The remaining time can be dedicated to high resistance ab exercises.
2) Your cardio routine should consist of high intensity, short duration interval training – hill climbs, wind sprints, jump rope, stairs climbs, etc.
3) With your diet don't try to restrict how much you eat, just what you eat. Keep your body fed with fresh, natural, nutritious foods. Avoid highly refined and processed unnatural foods. Avoid sugars, starches and wheat. Keep a healthy balance of protein, fats and carbs. Don't try to eat a “low fat” or “low carb” diet. Some of the most important aspects of a diet that creates a lean body are getting enough quality fiber, protein, and healthy fat intake at most of your meals, and limiting foods such as refined starches, refined sugars, hydrogenated oils (trans fats), processed polyunsaturated oils such as soy and corn oil, and excessive alcohol.

There you have it. The Truth about how to lose belly fat for men and get a lean and healthy body with six pack abs. I hope it was informative. Now it's time to take action!
